AHEC Nursing Quest Summer Camp and Health Career Exploration




 

 Are you interested in becoming a nurse or work in the health field? Would you like to attend a one-week summer camp to learn more about health careers? Are you entering or leaving 8th or 9th grade?

If you answered yes, than Nursing Quest Summer Camp is for you!


Manchester Community College 9th grade: August 7 to 11, 2017

Nashua 8th grade:  July 31 to August 4, 2017

Some of the cool things we did last year included:

* Visiting nursing homes, hospitals, the VA Medical Center, American Red Cross Blood Bank and the NH Medical Examiner's office
*Dissected a pig heart
*Became CPR Certified
*Learned about orthopedic occupations and visited Dartmouth-Hitchcock where we learned how to apply casts
* Learned about oral health and how it affects your overall health
* Learned about proper nutrition

** Note: Students with disabilities may be eligible for a registration fee waiver through the NH Vocational Rehabilitation office. If you currently have an IEP or 504 program, are receiving assistance through your school guidance counselor or a mental health clinic, you may be eligible for this. There is no separate paperwork to apply for the fee waiver- your registration form is sufficient.

If you do NOT have an IEP or 504 program, or are NOT receiving assistance through your school guidance counselor or mental health clinic, but wish to be considered for a scholarship through the SNH AHEC, click here for the Scholarship form.

Any student, regardless of their situation, who is able to pay the registration fee, is encouraged to do so when registering.
